Anne Charlton • November 28, 2021
Celebrating Amazing people in our community, making a difference everyday.
The annual Peter Turnbull Community Service awards pay tribute to the thousands of hard-working volunteers across the Central Coast who tirelessly volunteer their time, just like Peter did, to improve the lives of vulnerable people in our community.
This morning we were honoured to acknowledge the following 8 people for their enormous contributions over many decades.
- Steve Jelfs: Posthumous Award - Treasurer of 5 Lands Walk, Avoca Beach Rugby Club and Avoca Beach Surf Lifesaving Club
- Con Ryan: Founder and inaugural President 5 Lands Walk
- Johanna Reygersberg: Woy Woy CWA Group Historian
- Sarah Beard : CEO Take 3 for the Sea
- Robyn Reid: Elder at Mingaletta
- Gary Jackson: YIPA Youth in Performing Arts
- Pauline Maniskas: Disabled Surfers Central Coast volunteer
- Chris Holstein: Coastal Open Spaces, Protection of Ettalong Sand Dunes and many community projects
This is just a small snippet of the contributions of this group. It was an inspiration to hear from them and their families about the wonderful work they are all undertaking. Our community is safer, stronger and more resilient as a result of your endeavours.

Get ready to chuckle, chortle, and maybe even snort a little, because the comedy event of the year is about to land on the Central Coast! On the 1st of March, 2024, at 7pm, the Park View Room at the Central Coast Leagues Club will be echoing with laughter, all for a great cause. And who better to lead this laughter riot than the maestro of mirth, the sultan of satire, the one and only Peter Berner!
