Patricia through her volunteering at the Thomas Walker Hospital in Concord West ( Now Rivendell ) came to meet people connected with the hospital and collect stories. Namely the neice of Aunt Jean who worked at the Hospital duing the spanish flu of 1919-1920. Her collection of stories expanded to how the spanish flu affected people and places all over australia. The finished collection is now available in her book "Frontline of the Pandemic Australia 1919". Patracia said the similarities to how the pandemic was handled in 1919 to now was not that much different. With quaratines, border closures and mask wearing typical measures in place. Patricia has recorded a fascinating point in time. Certainly worth grabbing a copy of her book. Available to purchase on her website, the link is below.
